Desperately Seeking Prosperity? Try These Tips…

Carol Look’s Prescription for Prosperity includes 15 tips for attracting prosperity into your life. Following are tips 5 through 9.

5. Act from inspiration. Inspiration is different from motivation. Motivation is will power; it’s like the first two weeks in your gym in January-it only lasts so long. The people who are still there mid January are inspired to get in shape. Where motivation is about forcing or dragging yourself, inspiration is a feeling of congruence, of yes. When you act from motivation you get lukewarm results. When you act from inspiration you feel light and excited. Sometimes you can’t choose when to take action, when you are working for someone else, for example. But when you can, for instance with your own business, wait until you are inspired before you take action. The results will be much better.

6. Install the vibration of abundance. You must have a vibration of abundance to attract more abundance into your life. Carol uses lots of different abundance games to raise her clients’ vibrations and get them ready to receive. One game is called the gratitude interview – pretend you’re being interviewed by someone famous and they ask you “What do you feel grateful for?” Answer out loud or write it down.

Another game to install the vibration of abundance is called the list game. Simply write down 10 things that are making you happy today. This is an instant fixer when things are going bad.

Another game is to write a list of 10 things where the answer is unambiguously yes. This raises your vibration.

Another thing you can do to focus on being thankful is a gratitude walk. Take a walk in nature while focusing on things for which you are grateful. Be mindful during your walk and recognize your gratitude in the here and now.

7. Count your blessings. This is another good tip to use when something negative happens in your life. Make lists. Make a gratitude list every day. Make lists of ten things you love about your day, ten things you love about your life, ten things you love about your business. If you are in physical pain you can write down ten things you love about your body. When you are in a bad mood, you have to think about something positive. Writing it out longhand is more powerful than typing. When you engage your brain to move your arm to move your hands to do the writing, it’s very powerful. Before you know it your mood and vibration have changed.

8. Bless their success. If someone you know is successful, don’t be jealous. Instead, congratulate their success because if they can achieve lofty goals, so can you. Talk or write about what this person has accomplished as a way to further bless their success. Having a healthy competition is acceptable; however, when competition turns to resentment or anger, you have allowed your positive energy to drop, which lowers your vibration.

9. Stop asking and start listening. Another game to try is acting as if the solution to your issues has already arrived. Take the time to direct your energy on the solution. How would you feel if your issue was resolved? By doing this you move your energy away from a place of lack and propel it toward the feelings you would have if the solution was already present. Rather than concerning yourself with fixing your issue, listen for guidance from the universe. Don’t be obsessed with the problem. Give yourself the space and time to hear the solution. Once you’ve changed your negative vibrations to positive vibrations, the solution will come. Take the time each day to have a few moments of quiet and peace. Focus on your internal body, listening to your heartbeat or focusing on your breath. Pay no attention to external stimuli. By focusing on your internal energy, you can get back to divine inspiration.

Personal Development MP3s and Why They Work For Me

My favorite personal development tool is my Ipod. Anyone who is serious about changing their life needs to invest in an mp3 player of some sort. I recommend the Ipod. Why do you need an mp3 player? It can hold thousands of songs that can be organized and best of all, it’s portable.

Sure, other mp3 players play mp3s but I find the Ipods easy to manage and use. Although sometimes I wish I could create play lists on the go. However, the benefits far out weight the drawbacks. What I do is setup a play list for every type of development I want to accomplish. For example, I will setup a play list for weight loss, procrastination, being present or conscious, and other personal traits I want to improve.

When do I listen to these mp3s? Well, whenever I can. Before bed, I usually listen to some type of hypnosis mp3. This helps me relax and fall asleep easily. I can set up a play list that will only play 2-3 mp3s, that way, I won’t kill the battery or have to wake up to turn it off, which is another benefit of Ipod of regular or cheap mp3 players.

When purchasing my Ipod, I decided to get the video one. I think it’s worth the difference in price. I’ve downloaded Oprah’s web casts that she recorded with Eckhart Tolle on his book “A New Earth.” I usually watch them when I am in a waiting room of some sort, or as a passenger in a vehicle on a long trip.

Actually, my husband also used it during my last pregnancy. I had put movies on it in preparation for the labor. He watched before and after the labor. It kept him busy and he admitted that it was worth the money since it had so many uses. Also, I try to keep some kind of kid movie on there and it keeps my oldest daughter quiet when she needs to be patient.

Another great time when it was convenient was when I had car trouble and had to wait hours for rescuing in the middle of no where. I was able to watch Oprah and Eckhart chat it up. It could have been a terrible experience, but turned out to be a nice quiet time for me which isn’t often.

Going back and forth to work was another great time to listen to mp3s and made the drive much faster than it was. Before my personal development era, my mind was consumed with work. What happened that day, what I would be doing tomorrow, all the drama that occurred, etc? Even when I went to sleep at night, all I could think about was work. And that’s the last thing I wanted to think about.

Before my personal development days, it would take me at least an hour, if not two to get to sleep at night. My mind was always racing; usually about work. When I did fall asleep, I would dream about work. First thing in the morning, when I wake up I thought about work. I kept thinking “STOP, STOP, I have more important things to think about.”

Now, it only takes me about 10 minutes to fall asleep. That’s hit the pillow, relax, and sleep. I love it. I don’t dream about work anymore and I have a much better sleep. Listening to mp3s before bed has really changed my life.
