Have You Ever Considered Using A Natural Skin Care Cream?

There must be good reasons for using a natural skin care cream, everyone seems to be doing so now, but what are they? And what exactly is “natural” anyway?

Last question first. What does natural mean when you use it in a skin care context? There is no really one single answer. No clear definition of what natural skin care really is. Despite the fact that there are many natural anti aging skin care creams and other products on the market.

What is the difference between a natural skin care product, a botanical skin care product, an organic skin care product and a herbal skin care product? Is there any difference?

Whilst there is no formal definition that doesn’t mean that it is meaningless. It just means that the industry has no real way of establishing clearly what is natural and what is not.

So I tend to use my own definition when asked this question. But to formulate your own definition I need to first consider why people would want to use a natural skin care product. Why would they buy these over “ordinary” mainstream skin care products?

There’s a simple answer. Most of the big name skin care products that you see on the shelves have one or more, often many, synthetic chemicals that some scientist somewhere has found performs a function. Some of them are found no where in nature.

One of the reasons for this is that it is often much cheaper to manufacture chemical ingredients than it is to take ingredients from nature.

Parabens is an example. These are a range of chemicals that are used in many products, not just skin care products, as preservatives. Why? Because they are very cheap to manufacture. But there’s a problem with finding Parabens in your products. Many consider that they are dangerous if used extensively and could cause cancer. But they’re cheap.

There’s very many ingredients used in mainstream skin care products that are considered to be a risk to health from long term use. Chemical (and petrochemical) ingredients that many people don’t want to be putting on their skin.

So there are huge numbers of customers now turning to more natural, or herbal, or botanical or organic skin care products because they see a potential risk in the use of skin care products with chemical ingredients.

So from this information I can make my own definition. I consider a natural skin care product to be one which only uses ingredients that are found naturally somewhere and also which are known to be safe for human use. And there’s another part to the definition.

The product has to work really well too, there’s no point in buying a skin care product comprised of natural ingredients that doesn’t do anything, (despite the fact that many mainstream products often do very little).

It’s surprising but the best natural skin care products often work way better than the mainstream products.

So despite the fact that there is no formal definition of what a natural skin care cream is there are still powerful reasons to use one, and that’s why natural skin care is one of the fastest growing segments of the market.

They’re safer and work better than the big brands.

And amongst natural skin care brands there’s one brand that stands out head and shoulders above the rest. Visit my website to find out which brand.

Is it Time to Start Shopping at an Online Beauty Store? We’ve Got 5 Ways to Say Yes.

Here’s an interesting question — where do you go for beauty products? The drug store, or over to the department store for the expensive stuff? There are positives and negatives to both, but have you considered getting it online? Check out these 5 reasons in support of an online beauty store as your ideal solution.

#5: Those Sales Reps on Commission.

Department stores have people there for the entirety of the working day, trying to sell you all the expensive, great beauty products that are available. Someone has to pay those people, and that someone is you — through the higher prices found on those products. When you’re dealing with an online store, you get the same specialty cosmetics, without having to pay all the salespeople.

#4: Fancy Packages.

You can really simplify your packaging online. When you don’t have to stand out on a shelf in the same way that you do in the department store — and, increasingly, the drug store — things are cheaper for everyone.

#3: In-Store Competition.

Because online stores tend to display all of their products in a similar fashion, you’re able to judge them in a more egalitarian manner. When you don’t have aggressive in-store displays and “merchandisers” screaming in your face, you’re likely to make a better (and more economical) decision when it comes to cosmetics.

#2: The Whole Drugstore/Department Store Thing is Useless.

Out in the real world, the differences between the cosmetics in the department store and the drug store are big — maybe not in the cosmetics themselves, but certainly in how they’re marketed and their price points. Online, this is rapidly disappearing.

#1: Phenomenally Lower Prices.

Without all the aforementioned costs of a department store, or the in-store retail space of a drug store, any online beauty store worth its salt is going to pass on its low prices to the consumer. That’s the real advantage in all of this — prices are simply better online, and there’s no getting around it.

Why Should Your Anti Aging Moisturizer Be Paraben Free?

Many people now search for paraben free anti aging products and skin care products and cosmetics. Why would the best anti aging moisturizer be paraben free and what are parabens?

Parabens are chemicals that are found in many of the personal products that so many of us use today. They are actually a range of chemicals rather than one particular chemical.

Parabens are used in these products as preservatives and they work very well as preservatives and are exceedingly cheap. There are other alternatives for use as preservatives however these are generally more expensive. But there is some doubt about the safety of parabens in our personal products.

There are studies which have linked parabens in personal products to breast cancer for example. One study found that’ out of 20 breast cancer tissue samples tested contained parabens in them. Whilst the fact that these cancer tissue samples contain parabens is not proof that parabens caused the cancer it is certainly something that makes you wonder. However to date there are no conclusive studies proving that parabens causes cancer or other human diseases.

It is known that parabens will penetrate the skin. Studies have shown that when parabens are applied to the skin they can be found in the blood within hours. Clearly they penetrate our bodies which is also worrying.

And as well is this it has been shown that various parabens can mimic the role in the body of the female hormone estrogen. This is also worrying.

The precautionary principle says that we should avoid using ingredients such as these until they are proven safe however the reality is that until they are proven to be unsafe they will continue to be used in products that most of us use every day.

For these reasons many people choose to select paraben free products. For example those searching for anti aging moisturizers can find excellent quality paraben free anti aging moisturizers which use natural preservatives which work as preservatives and which are non-toxic.

There is a clear debate about the safety of parabens in our personal products and whilst it is unclear whether they are safe or not the decision to use products that contain or do not contain parabens is entirely your decision. But many people are now seeking to buy paraben free anti aging products.

There are now small companies that make excellent anti aging skin care products who choose to make those products entirely paraben free. They are excellent quality paraben free anti aging products that work exceptionally well, and are also free of a range of other suspect ingredients as well.

I try to educate consumers about the dangers of so many ingredients found in so many of our personal products such as anti aging products. I do this on my website where I also point out the alternatives for excellent quality paraben free anti aging skin care products. Find out more on my website.

The gradual elimination of this difference over several generations among Asian migrants in Western countries implies that genetic factors are not responsible for the ecological contrasts [2].

Researchers know that there are racial disparities when it comes to breast cancer. While black women are less likely to develop breast cancer than white women, their death rate is 37 percent higher. Dangerous Cosmetics Rampage. But There Are Safe Cosmetics.

Everyone should be able to assume that they use safe cosmetics. After all why would the cosmetics you use be dangerous? However, sadly, you can’t assume that you use safe cosmetics and you can’t assume that the government protects you from dangerous cosmetics. But surely the products that you use should be safe?

No you aren’t using safe cosmetics if you’re using big brand name cosmetics. The government doesn’t protect you against dangerous ingredients in your cosmetics and the cosmetics companies don’t either. There is a whole range of nasty ingredients in your big brand name cosmetics including lead, dioxane and parabens.

Doesn’t the FDA do something about this? Sadly again, no. The FDA does not test or examine cosmetic products to establish that they are safe for human use and don’t contain harmful ingredients, and even admit to this on the FDA website. The government does not act in our best interests by ensuring that the cosmetics that millions of American women use every single day are safe to use, and as a result we have dangerous cosmetics on the shelves of our major department stores.

The situation is so bad that there are now entire organizations set up to raise public awareness of this problem. Primary amongst them is one called the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics.

But the government isn’t listening to the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics, and the cosmetics companies aren’t either. And so there is nothing being done to raise the safety of those blushes, mascaras, eye shadows, lipsticks, bronzers and more that US women use daily, not realizing that they may be damaging their health.

There’s lots of examples, here’s 2.

The Campaign For Safe Cosmetics did some tests of major big brand name lipsticks back in 2007. The results were amazing. Over 50% of the big brand name lipsticks including brands you may well use now contained lead. Over 50%! And that includes some of the biggest names in lipsticks.

In 2002 laboratory testing found Phthalates, a family of industrial chemicals linked to birth defects and abnormalities in male genitals and feminization of males, in the majority of 72 common brand name personal care products, beauty products and cosmetics that we all use day to day. These included products by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Revlon, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein and Proctor and Gamble.

And products tested includes common everyday products used by almost everyone like toothpastes and shampoos.

Despite the fact that Phthalates weren’t listed on the labels they were found in 52 of 72 products tested.

Isn’t that scary?

Is it possible to buy safe cosmetics? Yes it is, in fact the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics runs a register of companies that are prepared to sign a compact pledging the company to make products using only known safe ingredients. And there are some excellent safe cosmetics to be found, but you won’t find them on the shelves of your local store.

And the companies that make them aren’t household names, in fact chances are that you’ve never heard of them. But their products, including their safe cosmetics, are first class.

Acne Does Not Equal Zits

There are quite a few different kinds of acne, depending on how or why the acne started. Some of the forms of acne are: acne conglobata (chronic boils); acne fulminans (an extreme form of conglobata); acne cosmetica (caused by cosmetics); acne keloidalis nuchae (from shaving); acne medicamentosa (caused by starting or stopping a medication); acne rosacea (redness on the face); baby acne; hormonal acne; cloracne and the common variety, acne vulgaris (also known as ‘puberty spots’). In this article, we will concentrate on acne vulgaris.

Acne vulgaris can be defined as: ‘an inflammatory disease of the skin, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, spots or zits’ (from Wikipedia).

Acne is most common in Western teens, although it does occur in every country in the world, so there could be a genetic weakness to it. It is possible that it could be an abnormal reaction to quite average levels of testosterone. For most sufferers, the condition lasts only until adulthood, probably only a few years or at most ten. For others, however, it can be a life-long recurring problem. It usually affects the face, upper-chest, upper-arms and back. However, an occasional spot is not the same as acne.

Acne vulgaris shows itself in different many ways, including: whiteheads, resulting from pores which are completely blocked, trapping sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells, causing a white appearance on the surface; blackheads, caused by pores which are only partially blocked, allowing some of the trapped sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to slowly drain to the surface (the black colour is not caused by dirt, but is a reaction of the skin’s own pigment, called melanin, with the oxygen in the air); papules, which are inflamed, red, tender lumps with no head and pustules, which are like whiteheads, but are inflamed, and appear as red circles with a white or yellow centre.

Whiteheads do not usually last long; blackheads can last a long time and pustules are what people call spots. Severe acne vulgaris is distinguished by nodules and cysts. A ‘nodule’ is a much larger and more painful sort of pustule and can often last for months. Nodules are large, hard lumps under the skin’s surface. They often cause scarring and should never be squeezed, which could cause them to last for months longer still.

A ‘cyst’ can look like a nodule, but it is full of pus and has been described as having a diameter of at least 5mm and, again, can cause scars and cause pain. Squeezing an acne cyst may cause a deeper infection and more painful inflammation which can last very much longer than if it had not been squeezed. Dermatologists have ways of lessening the swelling and preventing scarring with both nodules and cysts. It is not true that acne sufferers are not careful about their hygiene.

Indeed, it is a little-known fact that, over washing can exacerbate acne. There are many, many fake ‘cures’ in the shops and many, many old wives’ remedies. However, any good dermatologist would tell you that there is no sure-fire cure for acne and that the patient should follow a religious regimen of cleansing until the acne just ‘disappears’ of its own accord.

About Laser Hair Removal

Some women and men are unhappy with the amount of hair on their bodies. At one point or another they may contemplate Laser hair Removal. Different options are available as to the removal of the hair.

Some solutions offered are temporary, while others like hair removal surgery are more permanent. Often, shaving is the most widely used of the temporary solutions for hair removal. People tend to like the way that it offers an easy and quick way to remove the hair. In addition, most like how it offers a pain way to do this.

In some cases, cuts do occur. Others experience some form of irritation or ingrown hairs. Generally, the effects from shaving will only last a day to three.

The other temporary solution people use, is chemical depilation. Results from these creams, usually last up to a week. People can experience chemical burns from leaving the product on too long and have increased acne with usage.

Waxing and plucking are more painful ways of removing hair. Both work well in removing the root of the hair and last from 3-4 weeks in their results. Redness and irritation can result through either of these ways.

Many other methods exist as well for hair removal. These kinds however, are the most common and cheapest ways to remove hair. Additionally, all of these can be used within the comfort of a person’s home.

The process used, allows the removal of hairs without any damage to the skin. Over time, more treatments, lead to a wider length in time that a person needs to visit. The overall diameter of the hair becomes decreased and gives the appearance of less hair.

No skin damage takes place throughout the course of treatment. Every treatment the person has, gives them longer effects. Hairs also start to decrease in their diameter when they grow in.

The use of a laser for removing hair, tends to offer a less painless way for hair removal. The reason for this has to do with the way that shocks delivered through a needle in order to burn the hairs, which in some cases can cause a lot of pain, especially if the person has a low threshold for pain. Usually permanent results from electrolysis tend to take a lot longer to achieve as well,

If a person has a low tolerance for pain then electrolysis may not be the right option for them. Electrolysis tends to give the person a certain amount of pain, which relates to shocks delivered through a needle directly to the follicle, so that they can burn it. Additionally, the process will likely take a long time in order to achieve permanent results.

Some need treatments of electrolysis for several years, which can cost a lot of money. Generally most can achieve desired results around ten months. Laser hair removal on the other hand only needs a couple months worth of treatments. In any case, choose the option that works best for you, but if you are looking for a permanent solution, then go with the laser hair removal,
